The Right Side of Wrong
Something is wrong!
But can Special Agents Marina Butnari and Doug Hill make it right?
The Butterfly carried something more valuable than fruit when mercenaries attacked it in the Port of Baltimore, killing the entire crew of five. Its owner, a Bahamian-based banana farmer, is a deep cover resource for the FBI with a mysterious past, and when he requests assistance, Special Agents Butnari and Hill travel to the Caribbean.
Set between the colorful geography of the Caribbean Islands and the corporate high-rises of Cincinnati, the story catapults readers into a page-turning adventure that starts with a breath and ends with a gasp. When our favorite characters find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time, we unconsciously will them from above the pages to at least move to the Right Side of Wrong.
Why You Might Enjoy This Story…
Corporate greed replaces human trafficking as the foundational crime in this book, but the story revolves more around the people in it than the criminal acts that occur. Sometimes the characters carry the story, and at other times the story carries them, but they react to many of the same overriding forces and emotions we face each day.
Pastor Tom Burns appears in a cameo with his partner Teresa Adams, and a hero from The Other Side of Good, Theodore Jackson, reappears under a new name in this novel. He’s also in a different location, the Caribbean, and I enjoyed writing about this geographically and societally colorful region of the world.
Look also for an entertaining new character who emerges in the story. Her name is Samantha Jenkins, but constituents of her region refer to her as “No Te Metas,” a Spanish phrase that means “Don’t mess with.”
Fulfilling the demand for grit and action in the crime thriller genre can present challenges for an author whose byline promises “Stories With Heart.” I hope you find that I’ve met these in The Right Side of Wrong.

What Reviewers Are Saying
“The Right Side of Wrong was an intense ride with just the right blend of action, mystery, and heart. If you love stories where the line between right and wrong gets blurred, where good people sometimes do bad things for the right reasons, you’ll eat this one up.”
