Pedaling East

Federal Agents don’t get days off
and neither do their enemies…

When the FBI unfairly suspends Special Agents Marina Butnari and Doug Hill, they plan an epic West Coast-to-East Coast bicycle journey with friends. In their profession, they’re accustomed to following trouble, but this time it follows them across the country as a dangerous human trafficking cartel teams with a white nationalist militia group to eliminate them.

Danger lurks around every bend in the road for the bikers…

In an adventure as explosive as Old Faithful and as intense as Niagara Falls, readers join the agents for the ride of a lifetime, mentally warning the cast of colorful characters from above the pages to watch out. The trip, which starts in Oregon, will end in Boston—but how?

A crime thriller celebrating the strength of friendship, the resilience of partnership, and the power of teamwork.

Why You Might Enjoy This Story…

This is the fourth book in the Butnari and Hill Crime Thriller series, which began with Pedaling West. During the adventures of Pedaling West, Doug Hill and Marina Butnari first worked together as an FBI team to help a female bicyclist elude criminals as she attempted a solo cross-country journey.

In Pedaling East, the two agents, now wizened veterans of several exercises documented in Survive the Day and The Right Side of Wrong, reunite with Carrie Brinkley, the cyclist they assisted in Pedaling West, to take another bicycle trip across the United States, this time going from West to East.

Instead of tracking trouble on this trip, the agents find themselves pursued by it. A dangerous coalition of past and current enemies threaten the agents and their fellow bike riders in a harrowing journey through some of the country’s most scenic geography. And of course, Pastor Tom Burns makes a cameo appearance.

Don’t be afraid to read this novel before others in the Butnari and Hill series. Fans of earlier novels might be more familiar with many of the characters, but the story doesn’t depend on a knowledge of previous books in the series.

What Reviewers Are Saying

“I would compare it to a softer, more road-worn David Baldacci novel, less sleek and cynical, more companionable, with room for coffee, bruises, jokes, and grace between the peril.”
